Fluthiacet-methyl is a contact foliar herbicide specifically for use in corn and soybean fields. It belongs to the category of protoporphyrinogen oxidase inhibitors, exhibiting rapid action on the leaf surfaces of susceptible weeds. By causing the accumulation of protoporphyrinogen, it enhances peroxisomal activity within the cells. This leads to irreversible damage to the cellular membrane structure and functions of sensitive weeds. Under light conditions, leaf necrosis symptoms appear within 24 to 48 hours, demonstrating its high activity and rapid mode of action.
