Its fungicidal mechanism primarily involves inhibiting the formation of melanin in appressoria, thereby suppressing spore germination and appressorium formation, and preventing pathogen invasion while reducing the production of rice blast spores. It is a highly systemic and protective fungicide that can be rapidly absorbed by various parts of the rice plant. Tricyclazole offers a long duration of efficacy, stable performance, low dosage requirements, and resistance to rainwash. Its primary role in disease prevention is protective, and it is most effective when used before the onset of disease.
