Bentazone belongs to the category of organic heterocyclic pesticides, specifically a low-toxicity selective post-emergence herbicide used for post-emergence foliar treatment, which functions through contact with the leaves. In dry fields, it first permeates through the leaf surface and conducts to the chloroplasts, inhibiting photosynthesis. In paddy fields, it can both permeate through the leaves and be absorbed by the roots, conducting to the stems and leaves, hindering photosynthesis and water metabolism of weeds, leading to nutritional starvation and ultimately causing physiological dysfunction and death.
