2,4-D isooctyl ester is a phenyloxy carboxylic acid-based conductive herbicide, which is absorbed by the stems, leaves, and roots of weeds. It inhibits plant meristem, stops length growth, and causes secondary expansion, leading to swelling of roots and stems, blockage of the phloem, and eventually destruction of the xylem, resulting in the death of the plant.
