The application methods and dosages of paclobutrazol on different crops | |
Application method | Common flower production methods: soaking (bulbs), soil application, leaf spraying, drying. Soaking, soil/leaf application yield stable long - term effects. For paclobutrazol soil application: dig 5 - cm circular trench around crown for ground plants, spread & irrigate; drill soil holes for potted flowers, water after application. Leaf spray in early growth. Timing/concentration vary by flower type, soil quality, nutrition. Spray like fertilizers, ensure even growth point coverage. |
Application dosage and concentration | It varies depending on factors such as variety, growth, age, soil quality, etc. The soil application rate is generally 0.25 grams per square meter. When spraying the leaves, the concentration of paclobutrazol is 800 to 1500 ppm. Soak the roots (bulbs) for 5 to 8 hours. The dosage and concentration of paclobutrazol for woody flowers can be slightly higher, while the dosage of paclobutrazol for herbaceous flowers should be lower. Use paclobutrazol with caution on orchids. |
Application time | Different paclobutrazol application methods have different paclobutrazol application times. Soil application is usually done in spring before flower buds sprout (spring flowers); leaf spray is usually used when the new shoots grow about 10 to 15 centimeters that year. Deciduous flowers and trees can be treated with paclobutrazol some time in advance to ensure timely effectiveness. |
Frequency of application | Since paclobutrazol has a long-lasting effect, it is generally applied once and the effect can last for 3 to 5 years, so the frequency of application should be strictly controlled. Soil application should be done once every 3 years at most, and foliar spray should be done once a year. If used in consecutive years, the concentration should be reduced year by year. If growth is found to be extremely weak, use should be stopped. If necessary, gibberellin can be sprayed to help restore growth. 5. Paclobutrazol efficacy sluggish period |
