Dimethomorph is a fungicide belonging to the morpholine class and is a derivative of cinnamic acid. It is absorbed through leaves and stems and is effective against fungi in the Peronosporaceae and Pythium genera of Phycomycetes. It causes the decomposition of sporangium walls, leading to the death of the pathogen. It is effective at all stages of the oogonium life cycle. Dimethomorph exhibits good preventive and anti-spore effects, reducing the likelihood of reinfection. It has a long duration of action, is systemically absorbed, has strong penetration ability, is resistant to rainwash, and can control downy mildew and blight in various economic crops, such as cucumber downy mildew, grape downy mildew, lychee downy and stem-end rot, potato late blight, pepper blight, and tobacco black shank. It has no cross-resistance with conventional fungicides, is low in toxicity, and is safe for crops.

Toxicity	Acute oral LD50 for rats: > 3900 mg/kg; Acute dermal LD50 for rats: > 2000 mg/kg, Acute inhalation LC50 for rats: > 4.24 mg/L. It is non-irritating to rabbit skin but has mild irritation to eyes.
Use	It is a Oomycetes fungicide. It is mainly used to control grape downy mildew and potato late blight, usually mixed with Mancozeb. It is also applied to  lychees, cucumbers, melons, balsam pears, tomatoes, peppers and cruciferous vegetables to control fungal diseases such as downy mildew, downy and phytophthora blight, late blight, blight (Phytophthora) disease, phytophthora rot, pythium blight, and black shank.
