Chlorfenapyr is a novel pyrrole insecticide and miticide. It exhibits excellent control efficacy against sucking and chewing pests as well as mites. It is more effective than cypermethrin and fluvalinate, and its miticidal activity surpasses that of dicofol and cyhexatin. This compound serves as a broad-spectrum insecticide and miticide with both stomach and contact toxicity. It displays no cross-resistance with other insecticides, exhibits moderate residual activity on crops, and demonstrates selective systemic activity when absorbed through the roots in nutrient solutions. It has moderate oral toxicity and low dermal toxicity to mammals. The effective application rate is low (100g active ingredient per hectare). Its remarkable insecticidal and miticidal activity, coupled with its unique chemical structure, has garnered widespread attention and interest. This pesticide possesses both stomach and contact toxicity. It exhibits strong penetration on leaf surfaces, possesses certain systemic activity, and is characterized by a broad insecticidal spectrum, high efficacy, long duration of control, and safety. It can manage resistant pests effectively.

Mode of Action	The novel pyrrole compounds act on the mitochondria of insect cells and function through the multifunctional oxidase enzymes within insects. They primarily inhibit the conversion of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

Solubility	Slightly soluble in water, and soluble in some organic solvants such as Hexane, Methanol, Toluene and Dichloromethane.
Toxicity	The acute oral LD50 for rats is 459 mg/kg (females) and 223 mg/kg (males), with an overall value of 662 mg/kg for rats. The acute dermal LD50 for rabbits is ≥2000 mg/kg. It has mild irritant effects on rabbit eyes.
Use	A proinsecticide used to control many insects and mites including those resistant to carbamate, organophosphate and pyrethroid compounds.
